Chad Christianson and Cory Bedel share the Head Coaching duties of the Hancock baseball team and they will be looking to find replacements for the six senior starters who graduated following the 2021 season, which saw the Owls finish 9-10 overall and 7-5 in the Pheasant Conference.

“This year’s team will have many different positions to fill,” acknowledged Coach Christianson.  “Pitching will be something that we will need to focus on as we graduated 3 of our top 4 pitchers from last year’s team.”

Returning starters include senior Davin Rose (2B), Brayden DeSmith (C), Dallas Walton (OF) and Zach Carter (OF), junior Dain Schroeder (3B) and sophomore Hudson VerSteeg (1B/P).

The Owls will be looking to sophomores Donovan Curfman (IF/OF), Matt Aslagson (OF) and Ely Rinkenberger (OF), along with freshman Chase Evink (IF) to step into varsity roles.

Ashby, Brandon-Evansville and Border West are the coaches’ picks as favorites in the Pheasant Conference, with KMS, New York Mills and BBE leading the way in Section 6A.
