The Perham Yellowjackets continued their shooting woes on Wednesday night as they hit only 36% (13-36) of their field goal attempts in a 58-38 loss to Pequot Lakes in a Consolation Semifinal in the Class AA Boys State Basketball Tournament at the Gangelhoff Center on the campus of Concordia University in St. Paul.
Sam Rysavy registered a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Patriots and Eli Laposky scored a game high 23 points and dished out 3 assists. The Patriots shot the ball well, making 52.4% (22-42) of their shots from the floor. They also took great care of the ball, committing only 7 turnovers on the night. They also held a 28-21 edge on the boards.
Leaders for Perham were Soren Anderson (16 points, 3 rebounds) and Micah Thompson (10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists).
Perham ends their season with an 18-12 record.
Pequot Lakes (25-7) will now face Minnehaha Academy (18-11) for the Class AA Consolation Championship on Thursday at 2:00pm at Gangelhoff Center. Minnehaha advanced with a 77-67 win over Glencoe-Silver Lake.
