The Ashby Arrows are coming off a perfect 12-0 championship season in the Pheasant Conference and a runner-up finish in Section 6A. They put together a 24-3 overall record on the baseball diamond last spring. Losing Jaden Norby and Miles Hoff to graduation certainly creates a couple of holes in the lineup, however, with seven returning starter the Arrows are poised for another great run at the conference title and a state tournament berth in the spring of 2022.
Returning starters include seniors Torin Olson (P/SS), Hunter Norby (P/IF), Evan Paulson (P/OF), Carter Spangler (P/3B), Carson Spangler (P/OF) and Matson Hoff (C), and junior Brodie Ecker (P/IF).
Freshman Easton Nelson (UT) and sophomores Richie Johnson (UT) and Kellen Dahlen (IF) are expected to crack the varsity lineup.
“We have 7 returning starters and a lot of experience coming back,” stated tenth-year Head Coach Jared Larson. “I am expecting big things out of this crew and I think they are up to the task.”
Larson says New York Mills is the top contender in Section 6A, while Brandon-Evansville is the team to beat in the Pheasant Conference.
Dwight Walvatne, Casey Stokesbary and Cole Ellison will serve as assistant coaches.
