Once again the New York Mills boys’ basketball team had a solid week of games.  Monday the Eagles beat Sebeka, 83-28.  They then won their Senior Night contest against Browerville, 85-73 on Tuesday.  The wins put the Eagles final regular season record at 25-1.

“The game with Sebeka had an awkward 4:00pm start due to rescheduled game issues,” noted Head Coach Mike Baune of New York Mills.  “Our goal was to get better this game and not just get through it and we felt we did that.  All 7 of our seniors got in the scorebook on a very special senior night on Tuesday.  It was incredible to see the whole team rally around the seniors and I’m glad we performed well to make it an all-around great night!”

Baune continued, “Looking forward to the playoffs, we know we are going to have our hands full each game given that Section 6A is a top section in Class A basketball this season.  The boys are anxious to get going, as am I.  The team seems focused and confident that we can go out and get the job done.  Now all that’s left to do is execute and let the chips fall where they may.  We’re very excited!”

Top-seeded New York Mills will host the winner of Monday’s game between Rothsay and Park Christian on Thursday night at 7:00pm.
