United North Central found themselves down 30-18 to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in their Class A State Consolation semifinal match on Thursday afternoon at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, however, the Warriors rallied to win the final four matches to record a 34-30 win over the Jaguars, advancing to the Consolation Championship match at 5:00pm, where they will face Kimball Area.
Conrad Koll (106) and Zach Hendrickson (120) won by fall to give UNC an early 12-6 lead in the dual. BBE then won three straight matches, including a pair of pins to move ahead 22-12, however, UNC received an 8-3 decision from Hank Tellers (145) and Ethan Hendrickson (152) to cut the lead to 22-18.
A technical fall at 160 and a decision at 170 pushed the Jaguars lead to 30-18. That’s when the Warriors started their final push to victory. Shawn Hendrickson (182) won a 15-7 major decision, followed by a 9-4 decision from Cooper Hasbargen (195), a 5-2 decision from Torrey Carlson (220) and a win by injury default from Marcus Peterson (285) for a 34-30 victory.
