Pelican Rapids led by 12 points, 49-37, at halftime Tuesday night against Mahnomen-Waubun and finished with a 26 point victory, 83-57.

“This was a nice win at home for us against a very talented Mahnomen-Waubun team,” said Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “We were pretty solid offensively at not turning it over against their trapping defense which was a big key for us in getting the win tonight.”

Timmy Guler was the high point man for the Vikings with 25 points.  Ian Fahje added 16, Brayden Ecker had 14 and Hunter Williams finished with 13.

Mahnomen-Waubun was led by Loden Clark with 18 points.

“We also recognized our three seniors on this year’s team before the game in Brayden Ecker, Chase Restad, and Gabe Johnson,” said Coach Gullingsrud. “The attitude and leadership these three guys have brought to practices and games all season is a big reason for the success that we have had this year.”

Pelican Rapids (18-5) will host Barnesville on Friday and play at DGF on Saturday.
