Colbeck Moves Up All-Time Scoring List as Otter Girls Defeat Bemidji

Ellie Colbeck passed Bailey Strand to move into second place in career points behind Hannah (Draxten) Clark when she scored 27 on Thursday night in the Fergus Falls Otters 81-50 win over Bemidji.  Colbeck completed a double-double with 11 rebounds and added 5 assists.  The Otters made 13-of-28 3-point field goals in the contest as they improved to 18-5 on the season.

 

Colbeck hit 4 3’s and Tori Ratz connected from behind the arc 5 times, finishing with 20 points on the night.  Ratz also had a team high 7 assists to go along with 3 steals.  Brynn Sternberg dished out 4 assists in the game and the Otters had a total of 21 assists as a team.  They also held a 33-21 edge on the boards.

“We started fast, came out ready to play,” reported Head Coach Josh Steer.  “We shot the ball extremely well, especially in the first half, and defended well throughout the game.”

Jackie Johnson led Bemidji with 16 points.

The Otters will host the St. Cloud Crush in a makeup game on Saturday at 4:00pm.
