In true fashion, the Alexandria Lady Cards and the Lady Warriors of Brainerd/Little Falls brought an intense section semi-final game for the 3rd year in a row! However, the Lady Cards came up short this time around, losing 4-3.

A gritty Warrior team fought through a 3-1 lead by the Cardinals to get the W. Brainerd-Little Falls would take the 1-0 lead late in the first period but the Cards would respond shortly after to tie it up with a goal by Lauren Maras assisted by Kaci Trosvig.

The Lady Cards Would tack on 2 more goals in the second to make it a 3-1 lead. Goals were by Emma Ramstorf and Cadence Ellingson. MaKenna Aure would get an assist on both goals and Sophia Korynta would also get an assist on Ellingson’s. The Warriors would score 2 PP goals to send the game tied 3-3 heading into the 3rd.

It would take back and forth play by both teams before the Warriors would capitalize on an opportunity to take a 4-3 lead with 17 seconds left in the game to seal the deal. Jordan O’Kane would get the loss between the pipes while playing an outstanding game and coming up with big saves.
