Matt Thompson had another huge game on Friday for the Hancock boys’ basketball team as they posted an 81-52 victory over the Ortonville Trojans. Thompson had 32 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Owls. Hancock shot 54% (33-61) from the field and had a 51-18 advantage on the boards.
Thompson was joined in double figures by Chase Evink and Jackson Koehl with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Koehl also had 7 rebounds. Zachary Koehl added 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals, while Luke Joos had 3 assists and 3 steals.
Owen Longnecker led the Trojans with 27 points, followed by Hunter Merritt with 13.
Hancock (16-3) will face Brandon-Evansville on Saturday at UM-Morris. The Owls have seven consecutive wins.
Ortonville will try to halt a seven game losing skid when they face KMS at 3:00pm Saturday at UM-Morris.
