The Henning boys’ basketball team has only lost twice this season and both losses have come to the New York Mills Eagles.  After suffering an overtime loss at home earlier in the season, the Hornets took the short trip to New York Mills on Tuesday night where they fell to the Eagles, 77-66.

Tate Olson led the Eagles with 32 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists.  Jonah Johnson (20 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists) and Jack Peeters (13 points, 7 rebounds) joined Olson in double figures.  Noah Noffsinger distributed 5 assists.

“Our guys played hard, but we gave up too many layups to NYM,” stated Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “On the offensive end, their pressure made us play faster than we wanted. New York Mills was simply better than us tonight.”

Leaders for the Hornets were Tanner Arndt (17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists), Calvin Stueve (14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists), Mason Hammer (10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals) and Tyson Misegades (10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals).  Kale Misegades had a team high 6 assists and Carter Dilly had 9 points.

Henning (16-2) will travel to Verndale on Friday night to face the Pirates.

New York Mills (18-1) is at Bertha-Hewitt on Friday.
