Hancock's Matt Thompson scored 37 and Hudson Versteeg added 19 in an 80-61 win over the West Central Area Knights on Monday night in Barrett.  Thompson completed his double-double by securing 18 rebounds.  Jackson Koehl was also in double figures for the Owls with 10 points, Sebastin Felix and Luke Joos each added 6 and Zach Koehl 2.

The Owls hit 27-55 shots for 49% and 6-17 threes. They made 20-32 free throws.  The Knights hit 23-55 shots for 42% and made 8-25 threes and 7-15 free throws. The Knights won the turnover battle 12-13 but the Owls had a huge night on the boards dominating the Knights 48-22.

Knights Coach Kraig Hunter said, "That's the story of the game. We didn't turn it over too much and we shot the ball decently.  Their field goal % on their first shot attempts was much lower than their total, but they were getting two, three, sometimes four shots per possession and the percentage on offensive put-backs is pretty high.  If we are going to compete at a high level against good teams, we're going to have to figure that out."

Cam Anderson led the Knights with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals; Cole Anderson added 14 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists ;and Mitch Dewey was also in double figures with 10 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Nasir Dotts added 7 points and 2 assists; Bryce Kjesbo 5 points and 2 assists; Jake Strunk 4 points, Ryder Staples 2 points and Roman Mihailovschi had 2 points and led the team with 4 steals.

The Knights fall to 14-4 on the season.  They will host Parkers Prairie on Tuesday and play at Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Friday.

Hancock (15-3) will play at Ortonville Friday and host Brandon-Evansville on Saturday.
