Montana Carsten hit five of her six 3-pointers in the first half as the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines took a 29-13 halftime lead on the way to a 62-30 win over Sebeka on Monday night in Wadena.  Carsten finished with a game high 19 points and was one of three Wolverines in double figures.  Addyson Gravelle and Lauryn Gravelle scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.

“Physical game tonight against the Trojans,” commented Wadena-Deer Creek Head Coach Jordan Cresap. “Montana Carsten gave us a huge spark in the first half, knocking down 5 threes. She puts in a lot of time and effort shooting on her own, so it’s been great seeing her shoot it well. We had good balance offensively, with a few different players stepping up. Madison Packer continues to give all-out effort in all areas of the game. She makes simple, hard-working plays all over the court that sometimes don’t show up in the stat sheet.”

Sebeka was led by Maci Lake with 14 points.  Kaitlyn Eckman added 9 points for the Trojans.

Sebeka (6-13) will play at home against Nevis on Tuesday night.

Wadena-Deer Creek (10-9) is home to Long Prairie-Grey Eagle on Tuesday.
