Defending Class 3A champion Becker ended the Otters six game winning streak on Saturday in Alexandria as the lady bulldogs posted a 73-58 win.  The Otters led 5-0 at the start of the game and trailed 19-18 when Becker went on a 14-2 run to take a 33-20 lead.  Fergus Falls scored the last six points of the half to pull to within seven at 35-28.

Ellie Colbeck either scored or assisted on every basket but one, finishing with 35 points, including four 3’s, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.  Tori Ratz made three 3’s and scored 11 points.  She also dished out 3 assists.  Brynn Sternberg had 8 points and Cyntreya Lockett had a team high 10 rebounds.

“We played really well against a really good team,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Josh Steer.  “We have some things to clean up but it’s going to help us prepare for the end of the regular season and the playoffs.  Playing teams like Becker only make us better.”

Maren Westin led the Bulldogs with 22 points and 11 rebounds.  Alya Brown nearly had a triple-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists.  Two other players were in double figures, Danielle Nuest with 13 and Alexis Rose with a dozen.

Fergus Falls (14-5) will play Sauk Rapids-Rice at 6:00pm Tuesday, followed by the boys’ game between the same teams.  They have a makeup game at Albany on Thursday and will host St. Cloud on Saturday night.

Becker improved to 16-4 with the win.  The Bulldogs have won ten consecutive games.
