Brevin Stoa led the Nuggets with 14 points. Mason Gratton and Sam Senske finished with 11 points each.
“Tonight was a good old fashioned HOL rock fight,” said Hawley Head Coach Nathan Stoa. “Breckenridge played incredibly hard and has shown that they are greatly improved since our early season matchup, which is a credit to the hard work that Coach Lipp and his staff are devoting to the program. Anytime you can go down to Breck and get a win you have to be pleased. For us to do it tonight when we weren’t at our best, and in front of an overly hostile crowd, take the win and get home healthy. I’m really impressed with the play of Mason Gratton tonight. He played with great composure and gave us the juice that we needed to go home with the win.”
Alex Sanchez led Breckenridge with 10 points and Dylan Bernotas added 9.
Hawley (12-3, 4-2 HOL) will host Frazee on Thursday in another HOL contest.
Breckenridge will try to bounced back on Saturday when they play at Thief River Falls.
