Matt Thompson registered a double-double (27 points, 11 rebounds) and Hudson VerSteeg contributed 24 points to lead the Hancock boys’ basketball team to a 77-39 win over Clinton-Gracevile-Beardsley on Friday night. The Owls made 34-of-56 (61%) shots from the field and won the rebounding battle, 38-24.
Luke Joos and Sebastian Felix added 9 points apiece. Joos and Felix led the team with 5 assists apiece and Joos had 2 steals. Zachary Koehl had 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
Cole Gilsdorf was the leading scorer for the Wolverines with 16 points. Charles Kleindl chipped in with 7 points.
Hancock (14-3) will go to Barrett to face West Central Area on Monday night.
Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley will host West Central Area on Tuesday night.
