Sartell-St. Stephen put 30 shots on goal Monday night and five of them wound up in the back of the net as the Sabres handed the Fergus Falls boys’ hockey team a 5-3 loss in Sartell.

The Sabres took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Billy Vogt at 15:29 of the opening period.  Parker Comstock assisted on the goal.

Vogt’s power play goal at 2:38 of the second period was unassisted and gave the Sabres a 2-0 lead.  Carter Thielke scored the Otters first goal from Kellen Stenstrom at 3:53.  At 11:43 Jack Schmitz scored from Tony Colatrella and Tory Lund's unassisted goal at 13:35 made it a 4-1 Sartell-St. Stephen lead.  At 16:01 Michael DeBrito scored from Isaac Johnson to cut the lead to 4-2.

A second unassisted goal by Lund at 4:27 of the third period provided a 3-goal cushion and the Otters closed the scoring at 12:10 of the third when DeBrito tallied an unassisted goal.

Fergus Falls (13-6) will play at Willmar on Thursday and will host Bemidji on Saturday afternoon.
