M State hosted Riverland in a makeup women’s basketball game on Monday night in Fergus Falls. Riverland took a 22-17 lead after one quarter, however, M State caught them at 29-29 at the half. The visitors led by four after three quarters and outscored the lady Spartans 28-19 over the final ten minutes to post an 80-67 victory.
Savannah Longhoma sparked Riverland with 18 points off the bench. Imani Colon added 17 points and 7 assists. Camryn McQuery had a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds), Caylie Miles added 11 points and Turena Schultz chipped in with 10. Elyse Hebrink pulled down 10 rebounds and scored 8 points.
The lady Spartans had two players produce double-doubles, Lindsey Kurz (13 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 blocks) and Emily Dehler (18 points, 10 rebounds. Jayna Gronewold contributed 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Nyssa Vogel came up with 8 points off the bench.
Riverland shot 42% (30-72) from the field and hit 40% (10-25) of their 3’s. M State shot 39% (26-67).
