The Hancock boys’ basketball team met up with Renville County West for a game at Target Center on Saturday. The Owls led 40-18 at the half and won the game, 73-39, shooting 42% (27-64) from the field and making 10-of-23 (43%) from beyond the arc. RCW struggled with their 3’s, making only 1-of-20.
Matt Thompson had a game to remember, scoring 45 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Thompson also hit six 3’s on the day. Hudson VerSteeg added 10 points. Zachary Koehl had a game high 9 assists and Jackson Koehl had 5 steals. Luke Joos contributed 4 assists and 3 steals.
Tyler Froland and Jaden Serbus led Renville County West with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Hancock (13-3) will play a road game against Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Friday night in Graceville.
