Gronewold and Dehler Key Lady Spartans Victory over Western Tech

Jayna Gronewold (28 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals, 4 assists) and Emily Dehler (20 points, 19 rebounds, 3 assists) were key players in the lady Spartans 83-66 victory over Western Tech on Saturday afternoon in Fergus Falls.

Lindsey Kurz was also in double digits with 20 points.  She contributed 7 rebounds in the win.  M State shot 47% (31-66) from the field and made 16-25 (64%) free throws while winning the rebounding battle , 45-42.

Western Tech received 28 points from Emma Geiwitz who made 8-of-24 3-point field goal attempts.  She completed her double-double with 10 rebounds, while adding 3 steals and 2 assists.  Kaylee Skibba added 8 points and 11 boards, while Aaliyah Bowman finished with 6 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists.  Becca Rostad had a team high 4 assists.

Trailing 23-21 in the first half the lady Spartans went on a ten point run and took a 41-33 halftime lead.  They went on to build their lead to 18 points in the second half.

M State (8-9, 2-4 MCAC) will host Riverland in a makeup game on Monday and will entertain Anoka-Ramsey on Wednesday in a pair of MCAC Southern Division contests.
