Otter Boys Make it 3 Straight Wins with 4-2 Victory in Sauk Rapids

Fergus Falls jumped out to a 3-0 lead in Sauk Rapids on Tuesday night and went on to record a 4-2 boys’ hockey victory over the Storm.  The Otters had 25 shots on goal and Sauk Rapids-Rice put 27 shots on Ben Swanson who made 25 saves in the Fergus Falls net.

Michael DeBrito and Isaac Johnson scored first period goals to get the Otters off to a fast start.  DeBrito’s goal was assisted by Landon Thacker at 7:13, and Johnson’s goal was unassisted at 15:48.

Brayden Nelson’s goal at 2:54 of the second period was setup by Cole Wentworth and it gave the Otters a 3-0 advantage.

Sauk Rapids-Rice stayed in the game with a goal from Owen Arndt 7:17 into the third period, assisted by Noah Jensen, however, Colin Becker’s goal from Johnson and Carter Thielke at 12:56 put the Otters lead back to 3 goals.  Luke Pakkala scored an unassisted goal for the Storm at 14:41 to conclude the scoring.

Fergus Falls (12-5) takes a 3 game winning streak up against Wadena-Deer Creek on Saturday afternoon in Wadena.
