Seventh-grader Payton Gravelle, freshman Addyson Gravelle and junior Madison Carsten each scored 8 points on Friday night to lead the Wadena-Deer Creek girls’ basketball team to a 36-33 victory over the Verndale Pirates in Wadena.
The Wolverines (8-5) will host Pelican Rapids on Tuesday night.
The Pirates (4-10) suffered their fifth straight loss. Their next opponent is Sebeka in a road game on Tuesday.
