Lexi Bright hit a 3-point field goal just before halftime that put her over 2000 career points as the West Central Area lady Knights earned an 84-67 victory over the Henning girls’ basketball team on Monday night in Barrett. WCA had a fast start, building a 48-22 halftime lead.
Bright finished with 17 points, 11 assists, 6 steals, 2 deflections, 2 steals and a block.
“Lexi’s stat line says it all,” said WCA Head Coach Eric Schoenbauer. “She is great at putting others in good positions to score. She is a phenomenal player and teammate! I am extremely proud of everything she has done over the last six years. Congratulations to Lexi!”
Claire Stark (18 points, 14 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists), Addison Staples (14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists), Mya Foslien (11 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 deflections) and Elizabeth Rustan (10 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds) were also in double digits for the lady Knights. Macy Grosz turned in a solid night with 5 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
The Hornets were led by 24 from Lyvia Misegades. Faith Fisher and Ally Hart chipped in with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
The Knights sixth straight win improved their record to 8-2. They will play Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Friday night in Graceville.
Henning (7-4) entertains Verndale on Thursday night and will play Hawley on Saturday in Perham.
