Spartan Men Lose Shootout with Western Tech

Western Technical College made 25-of-28 free throws Saturday afternoon as they registered a 104-96 win over the M State Men’s basketball team in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.  Western Tech made 50% (36-72) of their field goal attempts and had a 44-34 edge on the boards.

The Spartans trailed 61-46 at the half as Western Tech came out blistering the nets, hitting 59.5% (22-37) of their first half field goal attempts.

Five Western Tech players were in double digits with Cade Badertschere recording a triple double with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.  Ryan Zimmerman had a team high 21 points.

M State was led by 25 points from Brett EngelmeyerNic Pearson and Langston Davis each scored 24, while Krosby Aasness and Larrie Bell added 10 points each.  Bell and Engelmeyer were the rebound leaders with 8 and 7, respectively.  Davis and Engelmeyer each had 4 assists.

M State (6-8) will travel to Worthington on Wednesday to face Minnesota West.
