“Tough night against a solid Pillager team,” said WDC Head Coach Jordan Cresap. “Their quickness and athleticism was on full display defensively and it was tough cracking their matchup zone defense. Our defensive effort was very good all throughout, just couldn’t knock down shots when we needed to.”
Corra Endres and Lauryn Gravelle led the Wolverines with 8 and 7 points respectively.
Olivia Peterson led Pillager with 20 points and Julianna Ewald added 8. Pillager went 13-for-15 at the free throw line, led by Ewald who made all six of her attempts.
The lady Wolverines are now 5-4. They will play at Staples-Motley on Saturday.
Pillager (6-3) play host to Pine River-Backus on Tuesday in their next game.
