Rams Hold Off Second Half Comeback Attempt to Beat Spartans 91-84

Anoka-Ramsey Community College shot 46.8% (37-78) from the field on Thursday night as they held off a second half comeback attempt by M State and beat the Spartans 91-84.  The Golden Rams led 55-39 at the half, but M State outscored them 45-36 over the final 20 minutes to get back into the game.

Ontario Chapman led the Rams with 25 points and 12 rebounds.  Carson Critchley added 15 points, Terrell Fountain had 12 and Jacob Say finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.  Elijah Mead had a team high 5 assists, while scoring 9 points.

Leaders for M State were Langston Davis (27 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists), Nic Pearson (22 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals) and Larrie Bell (16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals).  Mert Taylor led the rebounding effort with 7 boards.

Anoka-Ramsey built their first half lead by shooting 58.5% of their field goal attempts and hit only 34% of their second half shots.  The Rams held a 59-44 advantage on the boards.

The Spartans (6-7) will play a road game against Western Wisconsin Tech on Saturday.
