West Central Area won the Valkyrie Division title at the Minnesota National Bank Holiday Girls Basketball Classic on Thursday in Pelican Rapids with a 66-32 win over New York Mills. Lexi Bright led the lady Knights with 15 points, 8 assists, 7 steals, 4 rebounds and a blocked shot. Claire Stark added 10 points, 8 rebounds, a block and an assist.
Kaitlyn Hansen (9 points, 2 assists), Jayden Styba (8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals), Mya Foslien (7 points, 3 assists), Macy Grosz (6 points, 3 rebounds), Addison Staples (4 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals), Elizabeth Rustan (3 points, 4 assists), Halle Foslien (2 points, 3 rebounds) and Kennedy Ulrich (2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 deflections) all played a part in the win.
West Central Area (5-2) will play Minnewaska Area in Glenwood on Tuesday, will travel to Ortonville on Thursday and to Long Prairie on Saturday as they complete a stretch of six road games and 8 of their first 10 games away from home.
