Fergus Falls completed an impressive 3-0 tournament run at the Robbinsdale Cooper Holiday Tournament with a 3-2 win over Armstrong Cooper on Friday in the championship game at the New Hope Arena.

The Otters fell behind at 10:48 of the first period when Paige Loidolt scored from Rachel Vigen.  A goal by Maddie Hulter on the power play at 7:11 tied the game, with an assist being awarded to Gabby Brimhall.  The first period ended with a 1-1 tie on the board.

Piper Andrews put the Otters ahead 2-1 with an unassisted goal at 6:47 of the second and Hulter’s second power play goal with 27 seconds remaining in the period gave Fergus Falls a two-goal cushion at 3-1.  Andrews and Brimhall assisted on the goal.

Cooper pulled to within a goal at 7:23 of the third when Lydia College scored from Ruby Monogue and Claire Riestenberg.

Ana Jyrkas stopped 19 of 21 shots in the Otter net and Fergus Falls had 26 shots on goal.

“I’m not sure how, but we found another way to win,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  “Our energy level wasn’t quite as high, but it’s been a long, grueling week.  Super proud of our senior leadership.  Tougher than homemade jerky.  Hulter hit the 100 point mark, the kid is relentless!”

Fergus Falls improved to 12-1-1 on the season.  They are currently on a twelve game unbeaten streak and a four game winning streak.  The Otters come home to host Detroit Lakes on Tuesday and Alexandria on Thursday.
