The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team will play for the title in the Robbinsdale Holiday Tournament after recording a 4-2 win over Osseo Park Center on Thursday night.  They will now face host Robbinsdale/Armstrong/Cooper for the championship at 3:15pm Friday at the New Hope Arena.

“Best team we have seen all season,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  “Ana Jyrkas kept us in it, making 8 grade A saves to start the game.  We adjusted to the speed, depth and physicality, and did enough to win.”

Piper Andrews got the Otters on the board in the first period with an assist from Jadyn Bye

Andrews then assisted on a goal by Maddie Hulter in the second period to give Fergus Falls a 2-0 lead.  Osseo Park Center cut the lead to 2-1 when Taverie Shemer tallied an unassisted goal in the second period.

Hulter set up Desirae Maack for the Otters third goal of the game to start the third period.  Maggie Albers trimmed the lead to 3-2 when she scored for Osseo Park Center off an assist from Alicia Smuk.  Andrews netted an unassisted goal to close out the scoring.

The Otters are now 11-1-1 on the season.
