Goalie Ana Jyrkas stopped all 41 shots she faced on Wednesday as the Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team shutout Two Rivers/St. Paul 5-0 in the opening round of the Robbinsdale Holiday Tournament at the New Hope Ice Arena.  The Otters had 40 shots on goal.

Piper Andrews recorded a hat trick and Maddie Hulter had a goal and two assists to lead the Otters.  Tyra Skjeret scored on the power play.

“Good thing we came out ready and snapped 4 at ‘em,” said Head Coach Tim Lill of the Otters.  “After that we didn’t play Otter hockey until our fourth line of Vanessa Vaughn, Rachel DeBrito and McKenzie Sjolie set the bar on the 3rd period faceoff.  That shift was the most fun I’ve had in two weeks!”

Fergus Falls (10-1-1) will face Osseo/Park Grove on Thursday night.
