Perham improved to 3-1 in boys’ basketball with a 61-40 win over Paynesville on Tuesday evening at the Hive. The Yellowjackets held a 32-16 halftime advantage and were led by 23 points from Micah Thompson, who made 9-of-11 field goal attempts. He also had a team high 11 rebounds, distributed 5 assists, came up with 4 steals and blocked 2 shots.
Soren Anderson added 20 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and a pair of steals. Jacob Daniels had 4 steals.
Perham shot 49% (23-47) from the floor and made 44% (11-25) from beyond the arc. The Yellowjackets struggled form the free throw line, making only 4-of-16.
Paynesville made only 31.7% (13-41) of their field goal attempts. Chase Bayer was their leading scorer with 6 points.
Perham will host Sauk Centre at 3:15pm Wednesday.
