The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team ran their unbeaten streak to nine games on Tuesday night when they registered a 5-1 home ice victory over River Lakes.

“It was a fun night with lots of different girls on the scoresheet,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  “Skye Norgren was by far the best player on the ice.  I’ve been waiting 3 years for it, the girl has arrived.  We had a season best 20 blocked shots, the only stat that matters.”

Norgren notched the first goal of the night with an assist from Piper Andrews at 5:32 of the first period.

The Otters scored four unanswered goals in the second period, beginning at the 1:01 mark when Hannah Johnson scored from Maddie Hulter and Desirae Maack at 4:33.  Thirty-six seconds later Norgren’s unassisted goal made the score 4-0.  At 11:58 Maack found the back of the net with an assist from Tyra Skjeret.

Jordyn Bebus scored the only River Lakes goal 42 seconds into the third period.  Sophia Hess assisted on the goal.

Fergus Falls had 35 shots on goal and Ana Jyrkas made 30 saves in the Otter net.
