Hat Tricks by Gronholz and Lamski Help Cardinals to 9-4 Win Over Storm

Josiah Gronholz and Joe Lamski each recorded a hat trick on Tuesday night to lead the Alexandria boys’ hockey team to a 9-4 win over Sauk Rapids-Rice.  The Cardinals put 37 shots on the Storm net, while Sauk Rapids-Rice managed just 11 shots on goalie Gabe Evink of the Cardinals.

Tyler Kludt and Nicholas Peterson each contributed a goal and an assist.  The other Cardinal goal came off the stick of Gavin Olson.  He was assisted by Mason Stennes and Mason Loch.   Loch had two assists on the night.  Other assists were registered by Zaven Noetzelman, Pieter Mulder (2), Leo Kompelien and Brycen Berg.

Easton Portner scored three of the four Sauk Rapids-Rice goals with Luke Pakkala getting the other one.  Portner completed a four point night with an assist.  Ethan Euteneur and Noah Jensen also assisted on goals.

Alexandria (3-2) will host River Lakes on Thursday and will play at East Grand Forks on Saturday afternoon.
