Wadena-Deer Creek Girls Come up Short Against Pine River-Backus

Wadena-Deer Creek played Pine River-Backus in girls’ basketball on Tuesday night with the Wolverines falling by the score of 42-36.  The game was tied 15-15 at halftime.

“Good competitive game tonight against a solid Pine River team,” said WDC Head Coach Jordan Cresap. “Our effort was there, just couldn’t capitalize on opportunities we were given.” 

Ramsey Tulenchik led Pine River-Backus with 16 points, making 9-of-13 free throws.

Wadena-Deer Creek was led by Montana Carsten with 11 points, all in the second half.  Kaylin Lupkes chipped in with 9 points and Addison Gravelle added 7.

The Wolverines (2-2) will travel to Bertha to face the Bertha-Hewitt Bears on Thursday and then will host Park Rapids Area on Friday night.
