Spartan Men Can't Recover from Early Deficit at NDSCS

NDSCS took a 55-32 halftime lead on Sunday in Wahpeton as they went on to defeat M State in Men’s College Basketball, 111-79.  The Wildcats shot 56% (41-73) from the floor, made 9-of-26 (34.6%) 3’s and connected on 71.4% (20-28) of their free throw opportunities.  They also had a 51-31 advantage on the boards.

Six different players reached double figures for NDSCS, led by 22 points from Logan JedwabnyConnor Hollenbeck had 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, Parker RaShaun added 17 points and 6 assists off the bench, Khari Broadway had 15 points and 4 assists, Anthony Ignowski had 11 and Parker Jones contributed a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.

Leaders for M State were Nic Pearson (15 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists), Langston Davis (14 points, 3 rebounds), Brett Engelmeyer (12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals), Renell Edwards (11 points, 8 assists, 4 steals) and Larrie Bell (15 points, 6 rebounds).

The Spartans (5-4) shot just 39% (29-74) from the field and made 34% (13-38) of their 3’s.  They will participate in the Central Lakes Classic in Brainerd on Friday and Saturday.
