Otter Boys Improve to 5-0 Behind 5 Point Night from Isaac Johnson

Isaac Johnson scored a pair of goals and assisted on three others to lead the Fergus Falls boys’ hockey team to a 7-1 win over Hutchinson on Saturday afternoon at the Community Arena.  Fergus Falls had 32 shots on goal and goaltender Ben Swanson stopped 25 of the 26 Hutchinson shots.

Johnson got the scoring started 3:15 into the opening period with assists from Michael DeBrito and Landon Thacker.  At 6:50, Carter Thielke scored from Cole Zierden and Johnson and at 16:57 Kellen Stenstrom made it 3-0 Otters with an assist from Andrew Johnson.

DeBrito’s power play goal at 3:11 of the second period was setup by Isaac Johnson and gave Fergus Falls a 4-0 lead.  Hutchinson got on the board four minutes into period number two when Emmett Reiter found the back of the net.  His goal was assisted by Brady Knorr and Gunnar Bick.  At 9:24 Leighton Buckmeier scored from Jax Katzenmeyer and the Otters increased their lead to 5-1.

A pair of power play goals in the third period completed the scoring in the game.  Zierden scored from Isaac Johnson at 2:53 and Isaac Johnson scored from DeBrito and Andrew Johnson at 13:53.

The Otters (5-0) will host Brainerd in a Central Lakes Conference contest on Tuesday night.
