Tate Inniger scored 21 points to lead the Barnesville boys’ basketball team to a 57-52 overtime win over Perham on Friday night.  Zach Bredman added 10 points for the Trojans who improved to 2-1 with the victory.

Barnesville was trailing 23-13 late in the first half but they closed the half on a 10-2 run to pull to within two points at 25-23.   Perham hit a shot at the buzzer at the end of regulation to tie the game at 42-42, forcing overtime.

“We switched up our defense in the second half and that helped us control their shots better,” said Barnesville Assistant Coach Tracy Hinsz.

Barnesville shot 36% (17-47) from the field and outscored the Yellowjackets 19-4 on the free throw line.  The Trojans also held a slim 46-42 edge on the boards.  Rebound leaders were Kaden Zenzen with 13 and Inniger with 9.  Cam Heng finished with 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

Perham struggled with their shooting, hitting only 29% (19/65) of their field goal attempts and 4-of-10 free throws.  Soren Anderson (18 points, 11 rebounds) led the way with a double-double for the Yellowjackets.  Jacob Daniels added 8 points and 8 rebounds and Micah Thompson contributed 7 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists.
