Spartans Score 128 Points in Loss to Fond du Lac

Fond du Lac and M State combined for 217 shots on Friday night with the Spartans shooting 41% (47/114) and Fond du Lac hit 47.5% (49/103) of their field goal attempts.  Fond du Lac won the high scoring affair, 133-128.  The Spartans won the battle of the boards 67-55.

The home team placed five players in double digits, led by 36 points from Derriyon SamDemetrius Torrence scored 26 points, Davionte Davis had 23, and Tahj Jenkins and Jehoiada Goins each scored 14.  Jenkins completed his double-double with 15 rebounds and Davis pulled down 13 boards to also finish with a double-double.  Torrence had a team high 9 assists and Davis chipped in with 6 assists and 5 steals.

M State was led by 41 points from Langston Davis who made 19-of-15 field goal attempts.  He also had 14 rebounds and 4 assists.  Brett Engelmeyer added 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting, making 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.  Mert Taylor contributed 13 points and 7 rebounds, Renell Edwards had 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists, and Tyler Loe finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds.

The Spartans will play NDSCS at Wahpeton on Sunday afternoon.
