Henning Girls Hold Off Pillager for 54-50 Win

The Henning girls’ basketball team led 28-26 at the half and went on to post a 54-50 victory over Pillager on Thursday night.

“We got off to a slow start, but clawed back to take the lead at halftime and then we kept the game close down the stretch and made some crucial free throws to pull out the conference victory,” stated Head Coach Mike Hepola of the Hornets.

Henning had four double digit scorers, led by Lyvia Misegades with 19 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.  Lily Fraki had 12 points with a pair of 3-point buckets, Ally Hart contributed 11 and Faith Fisher had 10, including 5-of-6 from the free throw line down the stretch.  Hart added 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Fisher had 3 rebounds, 4 assists and a pair of steals.

Henning (2-2) will play at Staples-Motley on Saturday at 1:15pm and will host Sebeka on Tuesday night.
