Ellie Colbeck (31 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals) put together an impressive performance from start to finish on Tuesday night to lead the Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team to a 71-48 victory over Sartell-St. Stephen.  The game saw 7 lead changes and 3 ties in the first half, however, the Otters pulled away with a 14 point run late in the half to take a 38-28 halftime lead.

“Great team win tonight against a tough CLC opponent,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Josh Steer. “Our defense played solid, especially in the 2nd half. I thought we came out and set the tone early in the second half.  Offensively, we had 3 girls in double figures, 21 team assists, and rebounded the ball extremely well tonight."

Tori Ratz nailed four first half 3’s on the way to a 16 point night.  She also distributed 6 assists, grabbed 3 steals and had 5 rebounds.  Ainsley Hansen contributed a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, 7 of them coming on the offensive end.  She also had 5 assists.  Brynn Sternberg also dished out 5 assists.

Sartell-St. Stephen was led by Avery Templin with 13 and Emily Crandall with 10.  The Sabres lost for the first time in three games this season.

Fergus Falls (2-0) will now travel to Rocori for another CLC contest on Friday.
