Otter Girls Complete Back-to-Back Road Games with 6-0 Win at Red Wing

Fergus Falls held a 42-11 advantage in shots on goal Saturday afternoon in Red Wing as the Otter girls’ shutout the Wingers 6-0, scoring 2 goals in each of the three periods.  Ana Jyrkas stopped all eleven shots she faced in the Otter net.

Hannah Johnson scored 4:20 into the game with assists from Maddie Hulter and Skye Norgren.  At 7:57 Rachel DeBrito scored from Hulter.

In the second period Johnson scored her second of the game.  Hulter recorded her third assist of the day and DeBrito also collected an assist.  Tyra Skjeret scored from Piper Andrews at 14:08, giving the Otters a 4-0 lead after two periods of play.

Hulter added a fourth assist when Desirae Maack scored at 2:55 of the third period.  Lizzy Moxness also earned an assist on the goal.  Vanessa Vaughn’s shorthanded goal at 13:52 was assisted by Andrews and ended the scoring.

The Otters were effective on the penalty kill as Red Wing was 0-for-5 in power play opportunities.

Fergus Falls is now 2-1 going into their home opener Tuesday night against St. Cloud.
