The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team played the first of back-to-back games on Friday night in Hastings where they suffered a 3-2 loss to the Raiders.  The Otters will try to bounce back when they travel to Red Wing for a noon face-off on Saturday.

Tyra Skjeret scored at 10:43 of the first period with assists from Jaden Bye and Piper Andrews as the Otters took a 1-0 lead.  An unassisted goal by Kindra Radant tied the game just 45 seconds later.

A power play goal by Andrews, assisted by Talia Nelson at 8:50 of the second period put the Otters back in the lead at 2-1, however, Hastings countered with a power play goal of their own from Lauren Skov at 12:57 to tie the game.  Madyn Hanson assisted on the goal. Karissa Thompson notched the game winner for the home team at 14:51 of the second period with assists from Kyra Erickson and Radant.

“This was a good test for us tonight,” said Head Coach Tim Lill of the Otters.  “We worked as hard as we could for being out of game shape.  A couple turnovers proved costly.”

Fergus Falls is 1-1 to start the season.
