Isaiah Longnecker’s first season as Head Coach of the Ortonville Boys’ basketball team finished with the Trojan winning just three games. As year two begins, Longnecker feels he has a more athletic team hitting the floor for the 2021-22 season. “We lost some height to graduation, but we did gain athleticism which should help us compete this season.”
Returning seniors Owen Longnecker (Guard, All-Conference), and Carter Powell (Guard) will be joined by 8 juniors on the varsity roster. Daunte Fetters (JR, Guard) and Hunter Merritt (JR, Guard) are expected to step up and contribute in varsity roles.
Al Guse and Larry Powell will assist Coach Longnecker. Longnecker sees Hancock, Wheaton and West Central Area as the teams to beat in the Pheasant Conference.
