Warriors End Regular Season 6-2 after 48-28 Win Over Sebeka

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross scored the first 29 points of their game against Sebeka on Wednesday night, held a 29-6 halftime lead and went on to post a 48-28 victory over the Trojans in the final game of the regular season for both teams  The Warriors ended their regular season schedule with a record of 6-2.

Hunter Blume returned a fumble for a touchdown and Tim Blume ran the ball into the end zone for the two-point conversion to give the Warriors an early 8-0 lead.  Tim Blume then scored on a 17 yard run and scored another two-point conversion for a 16-0 lead.  Marshall Tolifson’s 3 yard touchdown run and Clint Determan’s extra point kick gave Wheaton/Herman-Norcross a 23-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter Determan hauled in a 9 yard TD pass from Tolifson for a 29-0 Warriors lead.  Sebeka notched their first touchdown on a one yard run to get within 29-6 at the half.

A 7 yard run by Tim Blume in the third quarter made it 35-6 and a 4 yard pass from Tolifson to Determan increased the Warriors lead to 41-6 at the end of three.

Sebeka cut the lead to 41-12 on a 64 yard run, but Brayden Hofer’s 5 yard run, followed by Determan’s PAT kick, lifted the Warriors to a 48-12 lead.  The Trojans scored the final two touchdowns on runs of 25 and 2 yards, succeeding in both two-point conversions to provide the final 48-28 score.

Hofer ended up with exactly 10 rushing yards on 12 carries and Tolifson had 57 yards on 12 carries, while passing for 66 yards, completing 9 of 12 passes on the night.  Determan caught 3 balls for 17 yards and 6 different receivers had catches.  Brent Callenius led the defense for the Warriors with 5 tackles and 3 assisted tackles, along with a quarterback sack.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross had 313 total yards with 66 coming by pass and 247 through the air.  Sebeka managed 327 total yards (41 passing, 286 rushing).  No individual stats were reported by Sebeka.

The Warriors received the number two seed in Section 4 9-Man and will entertain Rothsay in a quarterfinal round playoff game on Tuesday night.
