The Alexandria Cardinal Boys Soccer team traveled down I94 on a beautiful day for a match up against the current number 2 team in the Section 8AA, the St Cloud Tech Tigers on Tuesday. While the Cardinal fans packed the stands, it was a match of pure joy to watch. Both teams played incredible soccer with Alexandria prevailing, 1-0. With a constant back and forth struggle between the top two teams only proved why this sport is called "the beautiful game".
The Cardinals worked tirelessly to keep pressure on the Tigers. Playing a patient game and attacking the moment the Tigers made a mistake. This proved a solid approach to the game when the lone goal came in the 32nd minute of play when Myles Sansted found the back of the net with the assist coming from Jack Carlson.
The Gatorade of the Game went to Grayson Grove for earning his second Varsity shut out while making some great saves to keep the Cardinals always in the lead.
The Alexandria Cardinal Boys Soccer team is 11-1-2 on the season and will look to host the Sartell Sabres this Thursday evening for a 7pm kickoff while we honor our senior players.
