Cowboys Blank Rockets for Third Straight Win

Breckenridge ran for 198 yards and held Underwood to only 73 total yards as the Cowboys posted a 25-0 win over the Rockets on Friday, September 24.

Breckenridge took a 13-0 first quarter lead on a 3 yard touchdown run by Gavin Pederson and a 40 yard fumble return by Dallen ErnstBailey Evans tacked made one of two PAT kicks.  A sack by Alex Martel led to the fumble.

James Mertes added a 4 yard touchdown run in the second quarter to make the halftime score 20-0.

The only second half score came on a 5 yard run by Mertes, giving the Cowboys a 25-0 lead.

Mertes ran for a team high 65 yards on 12 carries and Dylan Bernotas had 40 rushing yards on 7 attempts.  Pederson finished with 32 yards on 7 carries and Griffin Bosse contributed 30 yards on 8 attempts.  Bernotas was the leading receiver with 2 catches for 9 yards and Pederson caught one pass for 9 yards.  Quarterback Collin Roberts completed 2-of-8 passes for 18 yards.

Defensively, Martel recorded two quarterback sacks and Evans also had a sack.  Martel led the team with eight tackles.
