“Piper Andrews started the scoring seven minutes into the game as she made an amazing run to beat the defender and pounded the ball into the back of the net,” reported Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.
East Grand Forks scored on a breakaway through ball to tie the game and took the lead on a misplaced ball in the box, passing it in. The Green Wave scored their third goal from about 30 yards out on a powerful shot and finished the scoring off a corner and a scrum in the box.
“Our girls played hard tonight,” said Coach Jurgens. “We played ¾ of the night 10 versus 11 players, but our girls never flinched and kept playing hard. EGF has a great program. They are well-coached and have a lot of talent. They are fast and move the ball really well.”
Fergus Falls (4-5-4) will host St. Cloud Apollo on Tuesday and Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Thursday in their final two regular season games.
