The Alexandria Boys Soccer team traveled down I-94 for a Section and Conference match against the St Cloud Apollo Eagles. The steady stream made for a great night of making memories!  The weather was the spoiler as the game was called early, ending in a 1-1 tie.

The Eagles found the first goal in the 18th minute of play when they were able to finish off a save from Grayson Grove. The Cardinals battled back to even the score in the 36th minute of play, Otto Anderson's commitment to finishing the run play got him another goal with the assist going to Jack Carlson.  The teams battled hard and fought through some tough field conditions but still played some great soccer. It was clear the Eagles wanted the win and the Cardinals were not going to give it away. Unfortunately, the game was called early due to poor field conditions. It was no longer a safe environment as players were sliding around everywhere on the pitch. With 17 minutes to play in the second half, both teams settled for a draw at 1-1.

The Gatorade of the Game went to Thomas Klecker for maintaining a strong midfield position, adjusting play style on the fly to match the Eagles, and being a positive leader and captain.

The Cardinal Boys Soccer team is 9-1-2 on the season and look forward to traveling to Little Falls this Saturday for a 12:30pm kick-off.
