The Fergus Falls Otters Girls Cross Country runners had outstanding success in Milaca at the Mega Meet on Saturday. “Every single girl on our team had a season best race time on a course that has potential for slower times due to the large number of athletes in each race,” commented Head Coach Niki Welde. “I couldn't be more proud of this team as a whole for their hard work and focus.”
The Otters ran athletes in Grade level races for grades 7-10. Their 11th graders and seniors ran in the Division 2 large school race. Ainsley Hansen was 61st in the varsity race with a time of 22:01.50. Rebecca Schindler was 93rd (23:29.90), Ellia Soydara 112th (25:01.90) and Miah Schmidt 122nd (25:32.90)
Cassie Wellman stood out in the 7th grade girls’ race, winning that event that included 258 runners.
Naomi Dummer medaled with an 18th place finish in the 10th grade race.
The Otters will host their home meet on Thursday the 30th at Pebble Lake Golf Course in Fergus Falls.
