Cardinal Boys' Score 8 Goals in Shutout of East Grand Forks

The fireworks were not only in the sky but also on the field as the Alexandria Cardinals hosted the East Grand Forks Green Wave in a high school boys’ soccer match on Tuesday. It was a great evening for soccer as the stadium was filled with excitement over this year's "Youth Night". The Boys Soccer team did not disappoint with their 8-0 win over the Green Wave.

 

Scoring is as follows:

  • 2nd minute of play: Jack Carlson, assisted by Myles Sansted
  • 7th minute of play: Cole Haabala, assisted by Myles Sansted
  • 33rd minute of play: Cole Haabala, assisted by Jack Carlson
  • 48th minute of play: Peter Sansted, assisted by brother Myles Sansted
  • 53rd minute of play: Holden Hansen, assisted by Peter Sansted
  • 64th minute of play: Taeren Peterson, assisted by Myles Sansted
  • 83rd minute of play: Cole Haabala on a Penalty Kick
  • 84th minute of play: Taeren Peterson, unassisted

The Gatorade of the Game went to Taeren Peterson for gathering two goals in the match and continuing to give his all during every minute of play.

The Cardinal Boys Soccer team is currently 7-1-1 on the season and looks forward to hosting the Brainerd Warriors this Thursday evening for a 7pm kick off at Alexandria Area High School.
