West Central Area made the long trip to Ortonville on Tuesday but made quick work of their match against the Trojans with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-11) victory, improving their season record to 10-1.

“We had the momentum for all three sets,” acknowledged WCA Head Coach Missy Foslien.  “Quite a few service runs helped keep us ahead.  We had steady blocking, which doesn’t show in our ace blocks but a ton of touches and great defense by the Knights.  Addison Staples (6 kills, 6/6 serving, 3 aces) had a great night hitting and some nice ace serves to spur the team on.  It is just so fun to have a team that can all hit and all play so well together.”

Mya Foslien (9 kills, 9/9 serving) and Elizabeth Rustan (8 kills, 1 block, 15/17 serving, 2 aces, 12 digs) led the team in kills.  Dig leaders were Rustan, Kaitlyn Hansen (12), Macy Grosz (10) and Madelyn Westrom (6).  Halle Foslien registered 5 kills and was 10-for-11 serving and Whitney Westrom had 4 kills and went 10-for-11 at the serving line.

West Central Area will face a tough Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley team on Thursday in Graceville before heading to Parkers Prairie on Saturday.
